STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND MONUMENT WAS BUILT IN 2007 TO HONOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED AT CARSWELL AIR FORCE BASE WITH THE STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND. B-36 PEACEMAKER MUSEUM IS THE CUSTODIAN OF THIS MONUMENT.

WHERE FINALLY MOVED TO THE SAC MONUMENT, SO THIS NOW COMPLETES THE
STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND MONUMENT
THE 15-MEGATON BOMB HOUSING IS OF THE LARGEST NUCLEAR BOMB BUILT. THE B-36 BOMBER WAS THE ONLY AIRCRAFT THAT COULD CARRY IT AND COULD CARRY TWO. IT WAS 25 FEET LONG AND WEIGHED 42,000 POUNDS. NO GOVERNMENT MONEY NOR PERSONNEL WERE USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS MONUMENT.
